Regional Officer Honor Code
Per the Official Policy Statement of the Phi Theta Kappa Board of Directors, New England’s regional officers abide by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Code for Regional Officers, which all incoming regional officers agree to through their signature immediately following their installation. Regional officers agree to:
- Conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects positively on themselves, their chapter, the New England Region, and the Society
- Place as a priority continued academic excellence
- Commit to maintaining an environment which recognizes the dignity of each individual member and encourages appreciation of diverse backgrounds, opinions, and goals in life
- Commit to honesty and integrity in personal, social, and academic endeavors
- Recognize that a successful New England Region requires a team effort, and pledge to work together to promote the Society’s Mission
- Work with the Regional Coordinator and the Society’s leaders in the same spirit of cooperation they display in their dealings with others
- Respond promptly, courteously, and positively to the concerns and requests of the Regional Coordinator and other Society constituents
- Fulfill their responsibilities in an effective, efficient, and timely manner
- Conduct themselves in a manner which is respectful of others and worthy of respect from others
- Dress appropriately for any and all occasions
- Not engage in any conduct which may bring shame or disrepute to themselves or diminish the reputation of the New England Region or Phi Theta Kappa
- Not engage in any illegal activity or violate any stated policies of the New England Region or the Society
- Not consume and actively discourage the consumption of alcohol at Phi Theta Kappa functions
- Not use or possess nor tolerate the use or possession of controlled substances.
